Review invoices
Open Billing and find Invoices. The Team list shows each invoice with its App, billing period, status, total, and a View action. An annual plan shows one invoice for the prepaid 12-month term, dated from the purchase, and then a monthly invoice only for months with burst overage or plan-change adjustments.
Understand invoice status
Section titled “Understand invoice status”The customer-visible statuses are:
- Draft for an invoice still being prepared;
- Pending for a finalized invoice awaiting payment;
- Paid for a completed payment;
- Overdue for a failed charge — see what happens after a payment fails;
- Void for an invoice that no longer requires payment;
- Upcoming for a future placeholder carrying plan-change adjustments.
What happens after a payment fails
Section titled “What happens after a payment fails”An Overdue invoice means a payment attempt failed — the App’s billing card was declined, or no usable saved card could be charged. synsmarts retries the charge 1, 3, 7, and 14 days after the first failure. The Team owner is emailed at the first failure and after each retry. There’s no pay-now action in the portal, API, or CLI; the scheduled retries are how the invoice gets paid, so the fix is making sure the Team’s default card works before the next attempt. When a retry succeeds, the invoice moves to Paid and the owner receives a receipt.
The retries charge the Team’s default card. To fix a failing payment, set a working card as the Team default — the change takes effect on the next scheduled retry, so it also cures an invoice already in retries.
The receipt and invoice email identify the card that actually paid. Changing the default later doesn’t change the card shown for that past payment.
Once no overdue invoice remains, traffic returns immediately — there’s no restart to wait through. synsmarts never cancels a subscription automatically for nonpayment. After the last retry, the account goes to our billing team for review, with a 30-day review window before anything further happens.
Review a finalized invoice
Section titled “Review a finalized invoice”Select View to open the invoice. The detail page shows:
- the App and billing period;
- status, total, currency, and paid time when available;
- grouped base, storage, burst, credit, and adjustment line items;
- quantity, unit price, and amount for each item;
- subtotal, tax, and total.
Burst charges are separated from the purchased base shape. Credits and adjustments can appear as negative amounts. A term invoice lists the discounted base for each part of the shape across the 12-month term and shows the renewal date; the base doesn’t appear again on the monthly invoices inside that term.
Select Download PDF to save the customer invoice. The PDF is available only for finalized invoices and reflects the current invoice record.
Review an upcoming adjustment
Section titled “Review an upcoming adjustment”An Upcoming row isn’t a finalized invoice and doesn’t represent a card transaction. Its detail page shows the net effect of pending plan-change charges and credits.
The final invoice total remains unavailable until the billing period is generated with base, burst, storage, and other items. An upcoming adjustment can’t be downloaded as a PDF.
Request a refund
Section titled “Request a refund”Eligible paid invoices show Request Refund. Owners, admins, and billing members can use that action. Developers see it disabled.
See Request and track a refund for eligibility, amount, and status details.
If an invoice fails to load, select Try again. When contacting support, include the short invoice identifier shown on the detail page.
