How-to guide

Use the sign-in method already attached to your synsmarts account. A link from an invitation or transfer returns you to that workflow after sign-in.

  1. Open Sign in.
  2. Enter your verified email address and password.
  3. Select Sign in.
  4. Complete two-factor authentication if the account has it enabled.

An unverified account can’t enter the portal. Submit email-and-password sign-in; instead of opening the account, the portal sends a fresh verification email. Open the newest email and verify the address before signing in again.

Select Sign in with Google, Sign in with Microsoft, or Sign in with GitHub only when that provider is already connected to the account.

To create a new provider-backed account, start from Create an account and select the matching Sign up with action. If provider sign-in reports that signup is required, return to that page instead of retrying from sign-in.

Matching email addresses don’t automatically link providers. If a provider reports that the email already exists, return to sign-in and use the original method. Connect the new provider later from Account settings and Connections.

If two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled:

  1. Open your authenticator app.
  2. Enter the current 6-digit code.
  3. Select Verify.

If the authenticator is unavailable, select Use recovery code instead and enter one unused recovery code. Each recovery code works once.

Don’t send an authenticator code, recovery code, password, or sign-in link to synsmarts support.

When sign-in was opened from an emailed invitation or transfer, the portal normally returns to that acceptance screen.

If it instead opens the portal home, reopen the latest email link after you are signed in. This is also the correct recovery when sign-in and email verification happened in different browsers.

  • Forgotten password: recover account access.
  • Sign-in provider unavailable: sign in with your email and password instead. An account created through a provider may not have a password yet; recovering account access sets a first password and works even when the account has none.
  • No authenticator: use an unused recovery code. If none remain, contact support.
  • Provider email already exists: use the original sign-in method; don’t create a duplicate account.
  • Invalid invitation or transfer link: reopen the latest email. Resent emails invalidate older links.
  • Temporary service error: retry once. If the error continues, contact support without including credentials or tokens.
